Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Done with Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and I have to say that it is easily one of the gloomiest book that I have read.

I am also a bit surprised with the violence that it portrayed, especially the scene when Ron was attacked by the big black dog, dragging him like a rag doll, and Harry and Hermione hearing his leg breaks when the dog pulled him inside the Whomping Willow.

The sadness that Harry felt when he learns more about what happened to his parents is very contagious. You can almost share how lousy and sad he feels during almost the entirety of this book. Your spirit will only be uplifted when he receives the letter from Sirius while he is on Hogwarts Express.

Interesting things about HP and the PoA:

Time travel, a bit intriguing, using magic to travel back in time. An entire page is dedicated on the time travel aspect of HP and the PoA. If you want to read more about it, you can find it here: Temporal Anomalies in Time Travel Movies unravels Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Its an interesting read, but a bit hard to understand.

Lupin as the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, as always, I was not able to discern Lupin or Remus' alte identity, eventhough alot of clues were presented, like Snape jumping to discussing werewolves when he took over Lupin's class when Lupin was ill, the boggart becoming the moon when it saw Lupin, Lupin being ill whenever there's a full moon, last but not least the name Lupin. A lot of clues, actually, and to think I already watched the movie a long time ago, and I still wasn't able to guess his identity.

The Marauder's Map, I would love to have one of like that, a map that will show secret passages and people within the vicinity. Would be very useful when its the Christmas season and you have a lot of inaanak.

The critters that Professor Lupin used when having his Defense Against the Dark Arts class, they are quite interesting like the boggart, a shape-shifter that will change into something that you most fear; grindylow, a water demon; red caps, dwarf like creatures that are found whenever blood has been spilled, and hinkypunk, a small one-legged creature that holds a lantern or light that is used to lure unsuspecting travelers into bogs.

I am off to the Quidditch World Cup (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire), see you laterz.
